Although he is a very nice gentleman, he told us that he charged $250/hr. and gave us an estimate of $425 to take down 2 dead trees. He was at our home for an hour, and when he was finished I asked him what the final price was. I hadn't glanced at the clock until he left. But at this point he should have himself revised his final cost, but instead picked up the card and turned it over to show the original estimate. My hubs wasn't home and I wrote out the check. I believe him to be a good man, but I gave him the opportunity to tell me an accurate amount for the time he had spent on the job and he did not. Also didn't cut the trees up into smaller, easily moveable chunks as he said he would. Oh, and yes, he doesn't haul away the stuff he cuts down, or that will be more. $425 for an hours work. We would have had more work for him, but we won't be calling him back.
